The building process can be daunting. We understand this and will guide you through the process. Architectural Concern's step-by-step guide to the architectural process is a good start to understanding what happens at every stage.
During the briefing process, we agree key building milestones and then programme these into a procurement programme for you. At the construction stage we get a detailed construction programme from the building contractors. Having a programme – with key milestones and deadlines – keeps your project on track.
Our clients are as heavily or as lightly involved in the design and construction stages as they want to be. During the briefing process, we outline what you as a client do, and what we do as architects at each stage of the architectural process. Residential, Interiors, Commercial, Institutional & Industrial projects all have different needs and thereby demand different levels of commitment from the Client.
At various stages of a project, other consultants' input is often needed. The most common are a land surveyor, a structural engineer, a geotechnical engineer and for commercial projects, a fire engineer, acoustic engineer and/or a lighting engineer. Consultants are engaged separately by you. We can offer you a list of consultants that we work with or you may choose your own. In either case, we obtain fee proposals from consultants on your behalf and gain your approval prior to engaging them. We coordinate the consultants' input into the documentation and architectural process.
